Everybody in this world runs at a lightning speed to pursue their dreams. The human body is put through incredible tests in terms of ability to lead, to motivate, to deliver and to be consistent! While one tends to be largely successful if they adopt the above-mentioned skill sets, it would be quite an understatement to say that human beings cannot be productive unless they keep themselves hydrated. Thus the simple equation is, optimal drinking water level equals heightened productivity levels. A study conducted by the University of East London shared in the Daily Mail shows that drinking water can have a productivity increase of about 14 percent. The human brain gets the ability to concentrate on a particular task without any diversion after drinking water at the right amount.
According to researchers, a person who is thirsty tends to send messages of thirst to the brain. When the thirst is quenched, the person’s ability to think will improvise which in turn will improve productivity. If you find this pretty unconvincing, try to stay without water at your work space for 5 hours. Mild dehydration would set in and this is more than enough for our brain to feel a little parched, which would affect productivity.
On an average, men are advised to drink 2.5 liters of water per day, while for women it is 2 liters per day. The question then arises as to how do we know if we are getting enough water? First, the body will tell us by activating our feeling of thirst, which is a sign of dehydration. Secondly, there are other signs to look for that may tell us if we need to rehydrate. They include fatigue or mood swings, feeling hungry even though you may have just eaten, back or joint aches, dry skin, lack of urination, or dark urine, and constipation.
In a 2014 study published in the Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow & Metabolism, researchers at Weill Cornell Medical College’s Brain and Mind Research Institute found that mild dehydration—that is, water loss of less than 5 percent of our body weight—can suppress the increase in blood flow induced by, and necessary for, proper neural activity. That effectively disrupts the blood vessels in the brain, leading to reduced cognitive performance in areas such as short-term memory, attention, and reaction time.
Here are other crucial benefits if we keep our body hydrated.
The body tissues and the underlying cells go separation while sleeping. Consumption of water before sleep will certainly help in rejuvenation of the body systems.
If drinking water can lead to clearer skin then why not clearer mind. Water is the fuel for the brain. It keeps the brain alert and attentive throughout the day. It will also enhance the thinking ability at any point in time
